It's
Anglesey For
The First Of
Two Visits
To Wales...
|
The 2010
CPC
Legends
Championship
heads
for its
first of
2
meetings
in Wales
– at
Anglesey
on July
31 and
August
1, for
Rounds 8
& 9
followed
by
Rounds
10 & 11
at
Pembrey
on
August
14 and
15.
The
Anglesey
Circuit,
or Trac
Môn if
you
speak
Welsh is
probably
the
spirtual
home of
Legends
racing
in the
UK, as
this is
where
600
Racing
are
based.
They
will be
using 2
different
track
layouts,
The
International
GP
circuit
on one
day
which is
2.1 miles
in
length
and the
1.55 mile
Coastal
Circuit
on the
other
day.
If you
like
your
racing
with
stunning
views
then
Anglesey
is the
place
for you

All
Action At Lydden Hill
& "Well Done
Mr Whitelegg"...
|
The short, undulating and very winding
Lydden
Hill
circuit
in Kent
proved
to be a
very
stern
test for
The
Legends
cars,
drivers
and
teams.
A high speed collision at the Devil’s
Elbow
involving
the #3
car of
Ross
Marshall
& the #4
car of
John
Mickel
threatened
to spoil
things,
after
their
bumpers
locked
together
both
cars hit
the tyre
wall at
high
speed,
The
impact
from the
bump
caused
the #4
car’s
fuel
tank to
split,
following
which
the #4
car
burst
into
flames.
Yet
again
the
strength
of a
Legends
car was
evident
as John
emerged
from the
flames
with
minor
burns
the
flames
had
found
gaps
between
his
suit,
helmet
and
gloves.
This
freak
accident
is being
looked
at very
seriously
and a
modification
will be
included
on all
cars
before
the next
round at
Anglesey.
It was another weekend when results
were
impossible
to
predict,
with 5
different
winners
in the 6
race
double
header.
We must
mention
1 of the
race
winners
#66
Stephen
Whitelegg
who took
his
maiden
Legends
victory
in
Saturday’s
final.
“Well
Done
Mr.Whitelegg”
It all got a bit tighter at the top of
the
championship
table
with the
top 3
now only
separated
by just
150
points:
|
1 |
S.Treherne |
3395 |
|
2 |
J.J.Higgins |
3265 |
|
3 |
L.Davey |

Mallory Park
Done, Now To
Lydden Hill...
|
Legends
lived up
to it's
reputation
of being
"one
of the
most
popular
club
series
in the
UK"
when
they
visited
Mallory
Park
for
Round 5
of the
2010 CPC
Legends
Championship.
The 3
races
saw 3
different
winners
& 3
different
fastest
laps -
#32
Morton,
#12
Treherne
& #1
Fitzpatrick
with
wins and
#8
Brace,
#11
Belcher
& #12
Treherne
with
fastest
laps.
Next up
it's
Round 6
& 7,
a
double
header
on June
26th &
27th at
Lydden
Hill
Race
Circuit,
Lydden
is the UK's
shortest
road
racing
circuit
at
exactly
one mile
in
length
may be
short,
but with
it's
many
undulation
changes is
a very
testing
circuit.
The last
time
Legends
were
seen at
this
circuit
was in
2001, so
not too
many of
the
drivers
will
have
circuit
experience.
With
another
capacity
grid, an
interesting
weekend
of
Legends
racing
lies
ahead

Cadwell Park
Did Not
Disappoint...
|
The
Legends
Championship
which
has
become
one of
the most
popular
club
series
in the
UK, with
every
race
providing
wheel to
wheel
racing
mixed
with
some
crazy
overtaking
manoeuvres.
The
4th
Round
of the
2010 CPC
Legends
Championship
showed
why,
with 3
action
packed
races
which
took
place at
the
'mini
Nürburgring'
Cadwell
Park on
Sunday
16th May,
close
racing
on a
very
technical
circuit
that
does not
offer
too many
overtaking
opportunities,
Legends
somehow
still
found a
way.
With
Cadwell
Park
being a
prime
venue to
show off
the CPC
Legends
Cars in
their
true
colours,
all was
set for
an epic
round, 3
races
with 3
different
winners,
it
didn't
disappoint.
Congratulations
to #3
Ross
Marshall,
#5 John
Jon
Higgins
and #1
Lee
Fitzpatrick
for
taking
the
three
wins,
congratulations
also go
to John
Mickel
and Ben
Power
for
making
race
podiums.
