CPC Legends Cars unveil new title sponsor for ultra competitive 2010 race season...

Legends Cars, one of the most exciting motorsport series in the UK, has announced a welcome and innovative new title sponsor, CPC; one of the UK's leading suppliers of electrical products and accessories.

The CPC Legends Cars series has an enviable record for full grids, close racing and high profile promotion including good TV coverage. Every race contains more overtaking manoeuvres than an entire series of F1, four abreast action and a title race that usually goes down to the wire every season, keeping fans and teams on the edge of their seats.

CPC, a Preston based company, boasts the UK's biggest range of electrical products sold in one place. With over 100,000 items stocked on-site in their massive 175,000sq ft warehouse, CPC are considered a 'trade secret'
by their customers. And starting from round one of the race series, at their local circuit of Oulton Park on March 27th, CPC hope to let even more people in on this secret!

Company bosses were drawn to the excitement of Legends after seeing first hand the lightweight, 250bhp per tonne machines in close proximity to each other and wheel spinning action out of the corners.

Chris Haworth, CPC Managing Director enthused, "We're extremely excited to be involved with Legends, the speed and excitement of the series really catches the imagination and it truly is a unique spectacle. We have plans to support CPC Legends Cars with a host of marketing and sponsorship activities to help raise the profile of the series even more. Our staff are certainly looking forward to the first round at Oulton Park!"

Legends Cars are 5/8 scale racers based on pre-war Ford, Chevy and Dodge bodies with a unique 'Funny Car' style. Under the bonnet they are driven by identical Yamaha 1250cc, a combination designed to keep the machines ultra lightweight and highly manoeuvrable for close, exciting racing. The Legends Car is a real race car, consisting of a tubular frame and roll cage, a locked differential and tight, responsive steering Strict rules limit modifications, keep the costs down and reveal the talents of the drivers. Equal performance and reversed grids guarantee fast, exciting and dramatic racing. The series has seen consistently high grids with an impressive 32 potential machines for the new season and past Champions have a habit of returning after failing to find the same buzz in other classes.

Phil Cooper, Series Organiser for CPC Legends Cars commented "Our drivers and fans have long known how exciting and value for money the series has been, we've been a kind of Trade Secret in Motorsport for years! It's great to get the recognition and support of such a high-profile company and we are looking forward to repaying this sponsorship with some great racing and series promotion."

CPC have embarked on an innovative Sponsorship partnership with the Championship to raise awareness of their product lines to the existing audience but crucially to also push event audiences by promoting the series to their massive database of trade and retail customers. The series opener at Oulton Park is an ideal starting platform for the company as their HQ and popular Sales Counter are located within easy driving distance. The company feels it shares important attributes with the series as both feature fast moving, popular products and are based on principles of exceptional value-for-money, easy-accessibility and no-nonsense, easy to understand rules.

The CPC 'Trade Secret' of an unrivalled range combined with genuinely low prices has seen the company outrun the recession and their competitors by achieving massive growth over the last twelve months. Products range from unbelievably priced flat screen TV's through mains electrical, tools, leisure, office, IT, AV and DIY products. For the full range of CPC products see www.cpc.co.uk

An immense 2,800 Product Catalogue, weekly special offer mailings, secure website, same day dispatch, technical helpline and local Sales Counter have helped CPC cement their reputation as a market leader since they were established over 40 years ago.

The 2010 Legends Championship Is Looking Good

So much news I don’t know where to start so here goes, 2010 will see the appearance of several new faces and the return of some old faces.

The Ole Man Of Legends just didn’t want to go away, reports of his retirement have proved to be premature. Along with the welcome return of Chris Bell, Peter ‘Ole Man Legends’ Morton #32 will be driving for The Klenzan QM Racing team.

Taking their place on the 2010 grid will be 8 rookies, we will reveal their backgrounds in the very near future.

And finally, the worst kept secret in motorsport, the return of Mickel Motorsport to Legends. “We’ve had some tremendous races in Legends, and we will be running three very fast cars in this year’s title battle.” said Mickel. “We’ve got a huge amount of experience of preparing these cars and I’m keen to pass that on so that the team can compete for another title. We know it won’t be easy but we’re going to give it our best shot!”
