LEGENDS RACING Steve Whitelegg

Steve says... 1985 - Yes so long ago I can barely remember, it all started with a full Ar*e over T*t Roll at cascades while testing suspension settings on a friends Dolomite sprint. Ask Brian Cooke, he was there and was 1st on the scene. A few weeks later with a rebuilt car the friend in question entered me into the North West GT round at Oulton Park for all of the assistance I had given him with the spanner work over previous seasons, not to mention damage repairs ? We finished 4th in class, Not bad for a first attempt, and the racing Bug well and truly installed. Spannered my brothers F.Ford with some team success, which is where we were introduced to and became friends with Brian Cooke, with whom i will be sharing Legends No 99.

1985 - 1992 Sadly no funds (Where have you heard that before) so ended up being a part time Mechanic for the championship winning Coastal racing XR2 team with Dad Terry and his ancient pal Scott Brown (Collectively known as "The Old Gits").

1994 - 2000 Racing again, this time 100cc Karts on & off, unfortunately more off than on? Apart from the 1996 season? I don't know what happened here, but I undertook a full challenge on the NKRA National 100cc Championship, winning 6 of the 7 rounds (Engine blew up on one) culminating the year being crowned champion.

2001 Retired from Karts having had lots of minor success, the dream of getting into F1 now long gone, and now carrying excessive weight around my middle? I can't understand where it came from?

2007 - Discovered Legends while spectating with Brian at Oulton Park.

2008 - Bought Car No 99 and will be sharing it as a team car with my life long friend and fellow racer Brian Cooke. Guest drives by Dad Terry can be expected this season? (According to this 70 year old, when he got behind the wheel of a legend at Knockhill, he threw away his Viagra? ) CAN'T WAIT.
