LEGENDS RACING Brian Cooke

Home town: Warrington
Age: 62
Occupation: Management Consultant

Previous racing experience: Formula Ford 1600 & Monoposto, BARC 74-78 Championship - Three race wins. Multiple record holder including Brands Hatch GP circuit.

Brian is a 62 years young grandfather supported by his partner Ingrid, their families and his ex wives. Brian is a management consultant and is co-principal and owner of the THG Motorsport Legends Team.

Brian raced FF, Formula E and Monoposto from 1984 to 1991 and had many wins and top three placings. He finished the 1990 season as the BARC 74 -80 Championship runner-up. Brian still holds a number of perpetual BARC FF 74 -80 Championship lap records at Brands Hatch (GP circuit), Thruxton, Oulton Park and Lydden Hill.  He also held a number of other BARC 74 -80 Championship lap records at Snetterton, Oulton Park and Mallory Park but all have now been superseded.

Brian retired from motor racing in 1991 and after a 17 year lay off, decided to set up a Legends racing team with a like minded petrol head and run a car in the 2008 national Legends championship. He treated 2008 as a learning year (and admits he still has much to learn). His team THG Motorsport will run two cars in the 2009 championship.

Brian and his team are currently making arrangements to support the McMillan Cancer Support charity and will shortly have the charity logos on the car.  Towards the end of the 2009, the team plan to have both cars on display in one or more leading North West shopping centres and plan to raise a considerable amount of money for the charity.
